    Relationship/property law in Oregon
My boyfriend and I have lived together over ten years. He has never paid rent or the bills. He is not on the lease, does receive mail here. Up and left one day, but left all of his belongings here. What are his and my rights concerning his belongings before I can start getting rid of them?

You can put them in storage and then send him notice. If he fails to retrieve his things in 90 days then send him notice that it will be disposed of.

You make every effort to serve him notice that you will consider his belongings as abandoned if he does not retrieve them within a specified time frame. Send such a letter to his last known address, his parents home, anyone else you think might be in contact.

By law you only have to give him 8 days (http://www.oregonlaws.org/ors/90.425) I would give him at least 30 days. If he doesn't remove them, then dispose of them as provided by the law.
