    Ejector pump seal
Should all pipes coming out of the pump be sealed. I get an intermittent smell in my basement and I have checked to make sure all traps have water in them. I was going to buy a can of STUFF and spray seal the pipes to the pumps. Will that cause any problems.

All pipes should be sealed, it operates on a closed system. When brown water enters, the displaced air goes up the dedicated vent. When it pumps out, the displaced water space is filled with air through the same vent. If you are pulling through a trap, the venting is incorrect.

Great explanation by Brian. Is there any gurgling when you flush or drain? I would be checking the pit seal instead of the pipes but if you want to check the pipes simpy paint the joints with dish deterrence and cucle the pump. See any bubbles? Let me know, Tom
