Can I change my son's last name?
Was wondering if I could do it without his consent?

You apply for a name change through the courts. The father of the child will have to be notified of whats going on. You give yur reasons to the court for the change and if granted and uncontested then you file it with statistices in your area.

If he is a minor it would depend on his age whether his consent would be asked for. If he is an adult, then no. In either case, it has to be done by a court, you can't do it alone, at least not a legal change.
