    Can my direct deposit of my wagess be garnished in a civil suit
    I'm being sued by a car accident victim. Can he take my wages? I direct deposit them.

    Yes, including any other money in the account. But first they have to win, get a judgement and then get a writ of garnishment. But with that they can go to your employer and have a percentage of your paycheck sent straight to them.

    But that's only if your insurance can't or won't cover everything. Which they usually will then there would be nothig to take from you.

    You weren't foolishly breaking the law driving without insurance were you?
