GE Profile refrigerator not cooling/freezing up
For starters, my model number is PFSS6PKW/PFSF6PKW. It is a GE Profile bottom freezer refrigerator.

I first noticed a problem when the fan began making loud noise as if the blades were hitting something. Assumed ice and checked the temperature readings. Freezer stays at -2 but the fridge went up to 52. Unplugged the unit overnight but the problem persisted. There is some frost forming in the back of the fridge along the center portion. It is creeping out of the slots for the shelves and there are a couple of "balls" forming in places too. As a temporary solution, I have been transferring freezer packs from the freezer to the fridge to keep it cool. This does work to bring it back down to 38 but it doesn't last long. Any ideas of what it might be? Im hoping someone can tell me what part needs to be replaced and some explanation of how to do it. I greatly appreciate any help given.

You will need to check the defrost heater, and possibly the thermistor in the freezer, but more than likely it's just the heater which you will find in the freezer on the coils. Check it with an ohm meter after unplugging one lead from the heater. You may be able to see that it's burned in two, though. Let the unit sit and defrost until all ice is gone. Then work on it. Good luck.
