Issue with breaks on Ford Windstar
I have a 1999 ford windstar LX with 3.8l. I am experiencing a problem with my ABS. When I am almost to a stop it start grinding as if the abs is kicking in (like it does if you hit the breaks on ice) and lose my breaks. I asked someone at the parts house what could cause this. He told me bad pads or a rotor out of round so I changed the front pads on both sides and both front rotors with the issue still happening. What could be causing this to happen. I also found a bad bearing on my driver side and repaired that.

Check for codes. Change the brake fluid, if it hasn't been changed in 2 years--you don't want corrosion forming in the modulator. Hopefully, that hasn't already happened.

Thank you for the tips. Had never heard of changing the break fluid before. But my issue was the result of a bad Abs sensor

It's important to regularly remove the ABS sensors, using a E8 Torx socket, and clean them with WD-40 and a rag.
