    Refund of Withholding Tax
    Hi,

I am receiving royalty payment for my book from Amazon U.S.
While sending royalty payment to me they are deducting withholding Tax @30% of my earning.

Kindly let me know how can I get the refund.

    Regards
    Rajesh

You'll get the refund after you file your US federal tax return next April.

    Rajesh,

If a refund is due, ebaines is correct; you will need to file a tax return (Form 1040NR) to collect the refund.

However, we need to know from WHICH country you are posting to determine the correct withholding percentage per the tax treaty. The 30% withholding is the DEFAULT amount.

If the tax is in fact 30%, then filing a tax return is a waste of time.
