    Shoplifting/permanent record
I was caught stealing from Walmart and gave Walmart security my social security number/address/phone number/drivers license numer. The police were not called. I was released and signed something saying I will never set foot into walmart again. The walmart security said something about misdemeanor. Will this go on my permanent record? Im hoping to get hired as a teacher and pray they will not find out about this. Please advise.

No, if you were not given a ticket by the police than don't sweat it. When walmart takes over the world its going to be hard for you though LOL. Just go to target for a while, and keep your nose clean.

I concur with Matt's comments. Unless the police charge you with something and it goes through the court system, there is no record for a potential employer to find.

They are correct, only when the police are called and they arrest you or issue you a ticket will there be a criminal record ( and then only if convicted in court in front of a judge ( or a plea agreement)

What you were given is a criminal tresspass warning, this is a store specific within their loss control, you will be in walmarts computer system,

But if you go back, since they have a formal record of you being warned not to go back, you can then be arrested for criminal tresspass.

This not ever going back to walmart may haunt you latter of course if as a teacher they want to do a cup cake sell in front of the store, or the school asks you to go to walmart and buy something for your class or school
