    Extending Water/Drain Upstairs
Can I use the washing machine water supply and drain by extending one floor up (for a whirpool bath)?

    Hi Robert

    Hmmm...

Are you eliminating the washing machine altogether? What size is the washer drain and vent (not dryer vent, the washer drain vent)? Let me know, OK?

Keeping the washer, just want to extend the service (water and drain) one floor above. The washer drain is 1 3/4" black PVC pipe.

Yes you can, however you will have to run a vent for the tub. If you dob't want to run a new vent out the roof yiu may revent back to a existing vent in the attic uaing a inverted sanitary tee. Be Aware, that if both fixtures discharge at the same time that the old 1 1/2" drain line might be overloaded and back up. Good luck, Tom
