Can a 24W T5 Bulb work in this fixture?
Hi, I'm currently trying to put together a reptile terrarium and it requires a 22" 24W T5 Bulb but I'm in no way savvy with lighting, anyway I found this fixture which already has a stock bulb in it (will post a picture) and it should be the correct size to fit the 24 W bulb I have, however I saw it said 13W on the packaging and am unsure whether this refers to the fixture only being capable of handling a maximum of 13W or just means the bulb in it already is 13W, sorry if I'm sounding silly.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide,

If it says it is a 13W fixture that is what it can take.

That fixture contains a T5 13 watt bulb.

Thanks, here is a picture of the actual fixture I noticed it said 13W on the side, does that still just mean only the bulb in it already is 13W and not the fixture itself?

It means that this fixture will take a T5 13 watt bulb. It will not take the 24 watt.

You're talking about a reptile terrarium....use the correct bulb in the correct fixture. I have had reptiles before and usually, it is some sort of bulb that is made for reptiles and not just an ordinary fluorescent bulb. You may want to look into this a little just to be sure.

Thanks for the replies, will look for another fixture and the bulb I have already is 100% correct and has been highly recommended by others (24W / 22" Reptisun 10.0 UVB T5 HO), just having trouble finding the correct fixture to house it.

Ok, good to know. You are half way there now. Just do an online search for Zoo Med light fixtures and see if they have something that is designed for reptiles that will fit that is made for that bulb.

    Good luck.
