    Paranoid about being pregnant
So I've recently started having sex for the first time. I am on birth control now, I did it twice before I started the pill. My boyfriend of course used a condom the both times. That was about 5-6 weeks ago. Yesterday I got random pain in my stomach and I don't know, I just started thinking what if... I got my period after those two times so I didn't miss it. I should be getting it again in a couple weeks. I don't even know, I am just so paranoid and I don't want to do it anymore, or for a while anyway. I'm just wondering if I'm paranoid or should be concerned?

    Hi joy2theworld,

While pregnancy is possible, even when you use birth control, odds go down considerably when the birth control is used correctly. Since you had a period, and you used protection, it would be very unusual for you to be pregnant. The random stomach pain is likely just that... a random stomach pain.

Easier said than done sometimes, but try not to worry. If you want to ease your mind further, try a pregnancy test.

You are 16, and inexperienced in the ways of sex, so likely you are more paranoid than anything. However, pregnancy can occur when you have sex no matter what you use. Anything unusual with your body will make you think of it being a sign of pregnancy.

First, the pill is not really effective, till you have been on it for 30 days.
And of course the condom has a 3 to 18 percent failure rate..

So of course there is a chance of pregnancy.
