My fiancée and I have been togather for 3 years we are getting married in October and we are wanting to have a baby is there anything I should be doing to prepare myself for trying to get pregnant? We are finically stable and looking to buy a home right now we rent a nice house. I'm only 21 he is 27 so yes I'm young and don't fully understand the process. Another question is that the boy gene is a strong gene in his family there hasn't been any girls for 50 years almost now and he's already had 3 kids and there boys is there any certain way we should do it to try and concive a girl?

Well, first thing is to get married and to get into the house. The reason I am saying this is because all of the stress involved with weddings and moving tend to counteract the ability to get pregnant and/or maintain a healthy pregnancy.

To get pregnant and have a healthy full term pregnancy you need to be as stress free as possible. So, understand I am not chastising your plans about getting pregnant before you are married, only offering you some sound healthy advice.

Now, as far as conceiving a girl. There is no way to determine what sex you are going to have short of having some major medical expenses with insemination. Whatever sex you get, is what you get. There are no positions, no foods, no vitamins that will help you get a girl or a boy. It is pure luck of the draw. But I am sure you will love your child with your entire heart no matter what sex you have.

I just wanted to say that we are planning on getting married first and everything and of course no matter what sex it is we will love it with our whole heart. One more question twins and triplets run in his family and I have great aunts that are twins he's already got one set of twins his dad was a twin and his brother also had twins but one was miscarried is it very likely that I might get pregnant with twins or triplets

Good for you for waiting. The stress is terrible while trying to conceive or during pregnancy.

Now about the twins. Yes, it is likely that you may conceive twins. Many twin studies have been done and they tend to skip generations. So, if his father was a twin, but your guy was not, or has no siblings that are twins, you do have a higher than average chance of conceiving twins.

To prepare yourself for pregnancy you should start taking prenatal vitamins. Your body needs about 400mg of folic acid. I would also start an exercise program if you don't have one. If you stay active before and during your pregnancy then it will be a bit easier getting back into shape after you have had the baby.
Also, stop smoking (if you do) start cutting down on pop and coffee. The caffeine and carbonation isn't good for you. Pop gives you empty calories that you don't need.

As far as the boy/girl question - Here is what science says -
The boy sperm are faster, but die out sooner. The girl sperm - slower but stay around longer. So, if you want a girl - have sex 2 or 4 days before ovulation. If you want a boy - have sex closer to ovulation. Of course, doing this doesn't mean you will get exactly what you want - ultimately you will get what you are supposed to have.

Everything the others have said is right, but also please bear in mind that it can take healthy couples up to a year to conceive. It is a bit of game you could say. My strongest advice to you, so we don't see you on here in tears or freaking over a test in a few months (not that we wouldn't help you) is to go to your doctor and check your health, discuss with them your plans, and when you are married and moved in and stress free, start trying, but don't make it your sole goal for the day. If you start to obsess over conceiving you will wear yourself and your partner out and cause a lot of stress on your body which can either throw your cycle out of whack, or just make it really hard for you. Go with the flow, it will happen. Good luck.
