    Ca sui/adi
    Hi there!

    I am working for a company with 400+ employees based in Ohio. I moved to California in March and started working for the same company remotely. My Address on the pay-stub changed in the bimonthly paystub that I received for the pay period Mar15-Mar31 2014. However, until last paystub, my employer has deducted OH state taxes instead of CA taxes. They also did not deduct the CA state SUI/SDI mandatory withholding.

    I am expecting to claim CA SDI benefits in Dec 2014 (related to child birth). I referred to the following link and found that even though I was working in CA, my SUI/SDI taxes were not deducted in the base period.
    Paid Family Leave - Benefit Amounts

    How do I rectify this ? Is there a way I can still pay the missed SUI/SDI taxes ?

    Thanks!

    You need to talk to the HR department, and have them submit the taxes to the state for the period you have worked there.

    Agreed; YOU cannot pay these taxes directly unless you are self-employed. Your employer must pay them.

    @Fr_Chuck and @AtlantaTaxExpert,

    Thanks a lot for your answers!

    I followed up with my payroll department and they are in the process of correcting my taxes.
