I'm converting kitchen sink from double to single drain. Set up beneath sink is a T system, with dishwasher draining on second pipe (before trap on main pipe).

Can I simply cap off the second pipe and drain my sink into the main, keeping the dishwasher attachment where it is or do I need to change everything out?

If its metal I'd recommend replacing it all... its cleaner and provides fewer opportunities to problems down the road. Even if its plastic I still would.

I like smoothys answer. Did you think you could simply drop in a single tub sink and everything would line up? If you're converting from a double tub to a single nothing's going to fit any how. The old drainage will have to be rerun and replaced. If it's not already plastic I'd convert to PVC. Need help? Just ask. Good luck, Tom
