    dehumdifier problems
I have a haier dehumidifier model DE65EJ-L. It runs for a few seconds then shuts off . The timer is not on and the fan is working. What do I need to do to narrow it down to see what the problem is. I would like to fix it if possible. Thanks'

Where is the humidity control set?

Is it removing water? On my model, the compressor switches on and off when humidity levels are reduced.

Is it clogged up with dust inside? They ALL need periodic cleaning... how often depends on the environment its used in and how much dust is in the air.

I cleaned it good. It still goes on for about a minute or less then shuts off. I have it set to continuously stay on no matter what the humidity level is.

I assume the circulation fan is blowing air through it as well. Is that correct.

Yes, the fan works and the compressor goes on.

... and then the compressor goes off? And back on? Some compressors are protected from overheating by a snap switch. If the compressor cycles, it could be low Freon or an overheating compressor.
