my guess is a leak in the shower pan. Back in the 50s we formed our shower pans mostly out of sheet lead but sometimes out of copper. Over the decades these pans can develop leaks. In my opinion your solution would be to call in a tile man and redo the floor. However, there is another possibility. You mentioned tile. Over time tile grout can shrink and where the water hits the tile wall it could leak down to the floor. Do you see water on the floor on the same side that the shower hits the tile wall? Let me know and we'll talk further. Back to you, Tom

Tom is right on. I agree with every word he said. Follow his suggestions and replace the pan. There is really on other way around it. It has to be rebuilt.

When you rebuild, don't forget to replace DRAIN, too. This is the time to do it.

Let us know if you need any other advice

    Back to you
