Hi
Okay so I got braces at 9.30am (it is now 6.30pm) and I am in so much pain. I have taken Advil and that hasn't helped at all. I only have the pain in the bottom front teeth, but it's unbearable. At one point in the day, it got so bad I was crying... Does anyone have any solutions?

Have you called your dentist yet?

I had braces for many, many years. Granted that was 20 years ago but one of my front teeth was twisted 90 degrees off centre and they used braces to straighten it out. I had many painful days. Some days it was hard to eat soft bread or cream of wheat. I found though that Tylenol worked better than Advil. I would try the different pain relievers as they relieve pain in different ways. Otherwise you're just going to have to soldier through it. It will lessen in a week or so.
