California child support cost of living increase
How can I calculate the cost of living increase in California for child support?

I will need to go to the court to file as I do not have a clause in my support agreement. Is there a way to calculate the increase in cost of living from 2010 to 2014 prior to going to the court? I live in a very expensive area of Marin County. My rent goes up every year. My Ex makes much much more than he did when we divorced.
    Thank you!

    Larkspur, CA.

There are sites that can calculate support based on inputted data. Are you sure you need to specify an amount? What you need to do is show that his income has increased since the original award so they can calculate support.

If his income hasn't gone up like a lot of peoples hasn't... its unlikely the court will give you an increase. If his income HAS gone up then they will look at that and determine how much they might increase it.

California uses a dissomaster to get the figures for setting child support and spousal support. You would need to plug the figures into it to see if there really is a need to go to court or not. Also it may be time for a change in custody if more support is asked for. That is also something you need to consider.
