Chev optra 2004 radio removal directions or instructions or link to service manual needed. Thanks
Almost all radios now come out of the dash with a removal tool, a thin metal bracket the slides in alongside the radio and releases catches.
Many use a DIN Radio Removal Tool (Radio Shack) or 4 small round shaft screwdrivers to release the unit and ease it out--I use screwdrivers. Insert a screwdriver in each small hole, press them to the outside, and ease the radio out.
The hardest part of this removal is getting all of the trim off first. I'm not familiar with that particular model but most aren't that difficult.
Begin by gently tugging at the trim that surrounds the radio to determine which trim piece needs to come off first. Many times the trim is held on by snap but sometimes you may find a small screw. Proceed slowly and once you get the hang of it, you'll gain confidence and it will go quickly.
Once the trim is off, the radio is held by 4 small screws (normally with 7mm hex heads).
