    Hi I found out last month I was pregnant.. I had some on and off bleeding for 2 weeks after I found out.. it was light bleeding but a couple of times it was heavy but only lasted a hour.. the bleeding stopped the 3rd week of last month and haven't had any bleeding since then.. what could have that been..

    Hi Amanda,

    It can be quite normal for there to be some spotting or light bleeding in the early weeks, but it is always wise to let your doctor or midwife know about it as, depending on the timing and extent of bleeding, they may want to check things out for you.

    There are a number of possible reasons some women will have some light spotting or bleeding in early pregnancy... for example, it sometimes occurs during implantation, can be due to the increased blood flow to the uterus, or sometimes it can be due to the development of the placenta.
