    Pregnancy
I got a transvaginal ultra sound and they said I was 6 weeks and 2 days pregnant is it possible that I could be 8-9 weeks pregnant? Or are they pretty accurate?

    Hi ericawl414,

They are pretty close that early in a pregnancy. Keep in mind that you may be about 6.2 weeks fertilization, or fetal, age (from when you conceived) where as you could be about 8 weeks gestational age (time from your last period when you are not actually pregnant). Often pregnancy is dated from the last period, but altered slightly after an initial ultrasound.

Thank you! I had a 32 day cycle from May to June 2013. If I had my last period June 27 and had sex on July 7th how many weeks would I go been at my first ultra sound on September 6 2013?

Going by your period, it would have put you at about 10+ weeks. With sex on July 7th, it could be about 8+ weeks depending on when you may have ovulated.

Do you think I got pregnant on July 7, 2013 if my ultra sound said 6 weeks on September 6,2013? Or do you think I got pregnant early August with the 2nd or 7th? My last period what I thought was July 24, 2013?

If it was determined with ultrasound, in particular with a transvaginal ultrasound, that you were around 6 weeks pregnant on September 6th, then you would have most likely become pregnant in the early August time frame. If you had become pregnant in early July, you would have been further along than 6 weeks by September 6th.

If you are having concerns regarding who the father is, ease your mind and have DNA testing done so that you won't have to wonder.

This is a public board, that can be seen by anyone. It appears, by the way, you are saying, that the exact date of pregnancy is a real issue.

The main reason this happens is that there is a possible issue of who the father is.

While the ultrasound is good, no it is not exact and yes there is room for error.

If the dates are only 2 or even 3 week apart, yes there is a chance that pregnancy could have occurred from either. And there will not be a way to know 100 percent. Until the child is born and a DNA test is done

If it is not an issue of who the father is.. but merely being curious of what location it happened or if on a romantic date, still not possible

Also, that is why we use a user name, that is not our real names, so people will not know who this was.

It hAs nothing to do with who the father is. I was just curious .

Public posts benefit many people as often you will notice that the questions/answers are viewed by far more people just reading the information than who are responding. It also allows for others to offer information on the question as well. You can click on a person's name, however, to sometimes learn a bit about them and send a message.

Because posts are public, most people are careful not to include information that would be too identifiable.

While it is possible to send other posters messages, we do require questions and advice to be kept in the public threads.
