Filling 1040 or 1040NR while in France
    Howdy,

I lived and worked in the US for a number of years until April 2006. Then I moved to France but kept working for the same American compagny (from a computer at home). I am still getting paid on my American bank account.

Which form do I file ? 1040 or 1040NR ? If I file by mail, is a French postmark of April 17 good ? I know it's valid in the US but I am not sure about overseas.
    Thanks.

You need to file expatriate dual-status return. The 17 April 07 French postmark is good to go in the eyes of the IRS as meeting the filing deadline.
