Pressure tank has 26lbs in it but no water and pump runs but when stops water goes back into to well tank

Are we talking about a story tank or a well? Does the pump hold prime? Your bladder tank sounds okay if the water comes out of the snifter valve on top. Back to you, Tom

Yeah. Sounds like you are pumping from a storage tank and when the pump stops, the water is flowing back into the storage tank. Is that the case? If so, then the checkvalve between the pump and the storage tank is bad.

I think that's a typo. If water comes out the snifter valve, then the tank is NOT OK.

That should read. Your bladder tank sounds okay if NO water comes out of the snifter valve on top.
