I took my 6 yr old daughter to the er last night where they diagnosed her with mrsa. I started her on the bactrum prescribed this morning along with ibuprofen for pain and topical ointment on the open sores. Since then she has developed a few more small sores along with some bumps that are not open sores. Also 2 of her previous sores have turned darker in the center. My question is, is it normal after meds are started for more skin irritation to occur and if so should I take her back to the er?
