What hose do I need to extend my central air from first to second floor?
My home has 2 floors but central air only on the first floor. My bedroom is on the second floor and I wanted to cover one of the first floor vents with a hose that leads to my bedroom on the second floor so I can cool down my bedroom.

No vents or ductwork on the second floor? That's what you need, not a hose. How do you get heat in the winter on the second floor?

YOU need someone whoes job is HVAC to access and make determinations what it needs. I find it odd that a building permit was even allowed without provisions for proper heating, cooling and ventilation. Assuming its neither 100+ years old... or was built without a permit.

Will extending one ac vent from first floor to second floor bedroom be enough?
My two story home has central ac only on first floor. I'm planning to run a hose from a first floor vent to my second floor bedroom. My bedroom is very large 24ft x 14ft, plus a little alcove off to the side which is 4ft x 8ft. I was planning to run only 1 hose from the downstairs up, and I would have to remove it at around 4:30pm before the family returns home, because it would be blocking the front door, and be on the staircase and in the way of anyone using the stairs. What I am attempting to do is, cool the room enough during the day, for it to be tolerable for sleeping at night.
The windows in our house open sideways and it doesn't allow for us to fit an air conditioning unit. I've looked into those portable air conditioning units that you keep on the floor in your room, but have heard that they really don't work, and the cost for them is high. I have even tried making something I found on you tube, call a geto air conditioner. I can't seem to find anything that works. I don't have much money, and can't afford to waist any on something that isn't going to work.
Does anyone out there have any other good ideas?

I would like to know how to cool the second floor of my home?
I recently asked about what kind of hose I would need to run central air from my first floor to my second floor bedroom. The answer I got did not fit the question. It said something about me needing to install heating and AC to my second floor. I have heat on the second floor. I live in an old house. The central AC was added years latter however only to the first floor. I thought the central air was through out the entire house when I move in. Since the design of the windows in the house will not allow for window air conditioning, I need to find another was to cool my up stairs bedroom. Please only ideas that really work. Something that will make the room very cool. I would like to thank you in advance for your help.

Don't keep starting NEW threads on the same topic... you keep them on the SAME thread you started by respponding to that original thread There are a lot of people making a lot of posts and you need to keep everything on a single thread.
