SLE patients with end stage kidney failure. What are the chances if a patient wants to have a kidney transplant? Still positive that she can go back to work being an infection control nurse. Please give advice? :(

This is best answered by competent physicians. Please do not rely on internet answers for something as serious as this.
Thank you! We already did! Some said it's not advisable to undergo kidney transplant because Lupus is an immune system dse. Chances are is only 10-20% and if new kidney will not work out she might go back to dialysis treatment after 1-2yrs. Transplant in our country is really expensive and we're not that well off. Other Physicians said she can have a transplant. Now she's hopeful!
SLE... Systemic Lupus Erythematosus is absolutely an autoimmune disorder. Since this is a disorder in which the disease fights the immune system of the person who carries it, most countries will not place that patient on the donor list due to the increased risk of the autoimmune disease attacking the transplanted organ.
This, of course, would be dependent on what country you are from.
