Can children draw a veteran check if their father was only in marine boot camp?
My daughter's father went to boot camp in San Diego, CA. about 13 years ago, and was discharged from boot camp. He recently passed away, which has nothing to do with the marines, but I'm curious if she has any entitlement to a check to draw from him? We aren't money hungry people but my daughter is only 16, and I'm checking to see what all she is entitled to. Thank you :)

He is not a Veteran. Doubt there would be any benefit if he only made 6 weeks. Even if she could, it would be pennies as he was only paid a small amount. Why discharged after boot camp?
