I'VE BUILT AN ELECTRIC GO-KART,but having throttle problems.what I am trying to do is build a pedal throttle as used in a car,but not sure how to build one.it would be something you would find in a train set or like in a sewing machine.so if anyone can give a layout of all I would need to build one.

What system are you using to run the go cart with? That is what will determine how the system is set up. What I'm talking about is the master unit running the system. Systems like Curtis or GE/EV and any number of controllers out there. Let us know and we can help you.

Two power chair drive motors and two 12 volt sealed batteries no master unit just battery to motors also i want to add a three way swatch to go forward and to backup

What you need is a controller for what your doing. If you were to hook the motor directly to your power source then it will run at top speed of the charge until it runs out. Also are you trying to use both motors at the same time? You might need to stip the controlers out of the wheelchair you got them from and then set it up for your cart. That way you wont run uncontrolled.

The control for the chair was damaged from a fall,and a new one cost too much.so that's the reason that the chair parts were removed.

You have to have a control system. Here are some available on ebay.
curtis motor controller | eBay

Without one your not going to get anywhere. You can't use the other style of system since this is on a go cart.

Well as of right now I've been using a contact trigger to drive it around,like the trigger on a drill.I do have the controller it's a DK-PMB50 SHARK dynamic.I would like to use it but since the controller is of no use.where the controller plugged into there are four pins,does the pins refer to forward,backward,left,right and if so which pin goes to what? could a RHEOSTAT be used as a throttle control?
