Having periods, can I still be pregnant?
After having unprotected sex I took an emergency contracrptive pill the next day. Had my periods regularly for two months after that, then my periods stopped for three full months, my periods are usually irregular so I wasn't worried. My periods started again from yesterday, no unusual spottings. Could I still be pregnant? I heard that we can be pregnant even if we have periods. I don't feel sick, bloated, nauseous or anythn of that sort.

So... you've been thinking about this for 5 months now... and you haven't taken a test instead relying on mythical sysmptoms that aren't even consistent from woman to woman.

I think it's highly unlikely you are... but there are rare cases of false periods (look them up on Google, they aren't real periods)... and depending on your body type and how much extra weight you are carrying you should be showing by now if you are.

Take a home pregnancy test, they are really cheap... and at this stage it will give you an answer either way. And put the guessing to rest. I'm guessing its going to be negative.

Unless you have continued to have sex after that initial time....in which case its possible you became pregnant roughly 3 months ago....

Thank you so much for replying! I have gone without periods for months so I didn't think of the possibility. But recently my friend told me there are some rare case. No, I haven't put on any weight, in fact I have lost about 5kgs (I started eating healthy) and no I haven't had sex since then.

And I did buy a home pregnancy test, but haven't used it since I am having periods. Is it okay if I take the test while on my periods?

If you are having periods you are not pregnant, some women may have what appears to be light bleeding or spotting, but you will not have a period.

You may take the test if you wish, also, for one or two months, the morning after pill can effect your monthly cycle
