Greetings:
I asked an old friend who I haven't seem much for a long time to help me roof my small house as he has scaffolding. I'm a busted up 64 year old and he's 72. I've already given him about $1200 cash and he hasn't done much work. He's sleeping all the time. Yesterday he told me that he has Narcolepsy but I'm thinking that he's got early stages of Aizheimer's Disease too. We don't have insurance because our house is about 125 years old. I'm thinking that he's going to fall asleep and fall off the roof and we would be in for the medical cost because he's not a licensed roofer. We'd have to take him to the VA... he already needs a new knee and he's like me, they "lost our injury records" so we have to pay.
I don't want him here anymore because we've mainly worked on his scaffolding, but my wife wants him to come back because she likes him. I say "keep him off the roof" because he's all the time sleeping and now I find out all this about him.
What do you folks think? I wouldn't pay for an injury that I received in the navy and they took the money out of my social security check.
Thanks
