I realize that S traps are illegal. However, I have a sink, going into an existing home, that does not have discharge access within the exterior wall. But it does have access for the vent up into the attic. Can I use an S trap and connect the vent after the trap or must I attempt to keep the P trap and associated piping within the cabinet and still maintain the required distance between the trap discharge and the connection to the vent?
