What is the chance that I am pregnant?
I got my Nuvaring on May 8th and put it in on the 8th. I did not wait for my period, although I should have.My last period was the end of April, not 100% sure of the exact days. Mostly likely around 23-25th. I did not know that it takes seven days for the Nuvaring to start working, and my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex multiple times in those first seven days after putting the ring in which he ejaculated in me. I am now experiencing nausea in the morning and throughout the day, fatique, sore breasts, I go to the bathroom frequently, and I am having slight mood swings. I will be getting a at home test soon and already have a doctor's appointment for my meds on the 29th and will be getting a test then as well. How likely is it that I am indeed pregnant?

It's a good possibility, but you would need to confirm with a test. It may also be that your period is due soon.

Do you know the usual length of your cycle? You may or may not be late yet depending on your cycle. Since you will be seeing the doctor on the 29th anyway, you could just save your money on a home test.

I should start my period within the next day or two. I have also calculated that I was ovulating on the 8th when I first got the Nuvaring and had unprotected sex about 5 minutes after putting the ring in, and he did not pull out. So the chance is pretty high that I could be pregnant.

That depends on if your calculation for ovulation is correct. Even being off a day can make all the difference. Keep in mind that if you are counting days to determine ovulation, that only gives you a starting place. You may or may not fall into the norm for when ovulation is most likely to occur. Also, even with good timing, pregnancy is not a guarantee.

With all of that, you are having signs of a possible pregnancy so of course you will need to see what happens when you test.

If you can't stand the wait to test when you see the doctor, and I know that can be hard to do, wait to see if your period doesn't show up in the next several days and try a home test.

It is very possible, no way to do anything but guess, wait for doctors tests and see.

Sadly the only way to confirm pregnancy is with a urine test, a blood test, an ultrasound, or giving birth.

We can tell you that there's a good chance of pregnancy based on what you posted. But you'll have to wait and see.

I wish you the best of luck.
