The water rushes onto the floor when I flush my America standard 4049 toilet tank. I know there is something called a Spud Washer. I have no washer over the shank right now.

Please tell me what I need to do.

What happened to the old one? Remove the tank from the bowl. The spud washer fits over the big nut and sits in the cavity in the bowl. Carefully tighten tank to bowl.

If you lost the new one (or old one) go to a local home improvement store and purchase a new spud washer for the toilet.

I also wonder what happened to the old one. Shut the water off to the toilet, them and is an ll I hundred ande and to you!

R cl unbolt it and pull it clear. Install the spud washer and set the tank on the bowl.
CAUTION! DO NOT crank down tight on the tank bolts. Leave a 1/4" of play in the tank when you lean back. If the tank is left ridged it puts a strain on the china tank floor that will crack at the bolt holes. Good luck. Tom
