I suddenly developed something very strange on my abdomen
Its fairly large and egg-shaped, and there's a triangle-shaped protrusion just beneath the skin. The skin around it is streaked dark red, almost black in some places. It doesn't hurt or itch and I didn't injure myself, but thing is ghastly and appeared out of no where. Here is a link to a picture. I'm kind of scared.

Is it bad enough to actually see a doctor about?

We can't diagnose you over the internet. If it is bad enough to have you scared, you need to see a doctor.

Do not send me unsolicited PM's offering for me to see your "ghastly" image. I do not care to see it. I do not care to receive unwanted emails or PM's. Even if I did see it, the advice would be the same: We cannot diagnose on this site...see a doctor.

If photo not improper, it can be posted on board. But as noted, we can not do medical tests, nor can even a doctor know what something is. Without medical testing.

Nothing just happens without cause. You just do not know. You need to see a local medical professional to find out what it is, and the cause.

There are no doctors on this site or any other. No doctor would risk his/her license by diagnosing someone online. You can't even begin to imagine what they'd be risking in malpractice suits if they did so. You won't find any diagnosis online, anywhere.

If this is a concern, which it should be, see a doctor. The only thing you'll find online are guesses, and not guesses from anyone with medical knowledge. You need to see a doctor, in person.
