Establishing paternity will not affect tax filings. But you may be required to pay child support to reduce the amount the state pays.

An affidavits of paternity usually requires that the mother sign as well. If you go to court to establish paternity the court will order a test and she will be required to comply.

Agree, it will not effect past year filings, but if you are paying child support, it may effect, but then she will have your support check

Where child resides is the issue, not where born. You will file in court where child is resident
