71 days no period- negative test
Hiya, I'm 20 yrs old, my partner and I have been trying for a baby since September. The last day of my last period was January 20th. My hpt's came up negative. I had a miscarriage last April, but after a positive test a week before it happened , when I was in hospital it was negative so they done a blood test that was positive, and he said that was normal because the hcg level or something would have dropped. I'm wondering if I should ask for a blood test now? I have been having lots of discharge for the last couple of weeks, my nipples are most definetely darker! My trousers are just slightly tighter, but I keep getting like hot flushes, and the last week or so I have had this pain at the top of my left arm and a few dizzy spells... could this be related? I phoned my dr for advice, but he said leave it another couple of weeks, then make an appointment, but I'm very worried.

Whenever you are concerned about your health, it is best to get it checked by a health professional.

Please make an appointment with a doctor to find out EXACTLY what is going on.

Definitely make an appointment, and if your present doctor won't see you right away, look for another. Only your doctor can properly diagnose you, however, the pain in your upper arm (shoulder?) causes me concern, as this could be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy. But as I said, only your doctor can properly diagnosis this, and if he won't see you any sooner, you need to find someone who will. Good luck

Definitely make that appointment. If you are pregnant all this worrying will not do you any good. If the pregnancy was eptopic you would know by now I would have though because you would be nearly 3 months pregnant. A blood test would clear the questioning up straight away, and then they can look at other reasons you may not have had a period.

You are right English Rose, most people do know at this point if its ectopic. However, I have heard of some women that don't know, and their first clue is a rupture, etc. A friend of mine was this far along when she found out she had an ectopic. She had no pain, only pregnancy symptoms, and negative tests. The docs didn't even register that it was a possibility, they were just focusing on her thyroid, and didn't think she could be pregnant. She just had surgery yesterday. Since the poster said she was having shoulder pains, it definitely stuck out to me that it might be this, and wanted to make sure she was aware of the posibilities.
