Ceiling Fan light cord & Fixture
We have a Hampton Bay Ceiling fan that has been working fine for a year or so. There are two questions I have for anyone who can offer assistance:

    1. The light cord doesn't work. Well, actually, it works sporadically, but rarely. When I pull the cord, it seems to not catch whatever it's supposed to in order to turn the light on/off. It feels like the cord isn't going all the way in, because when it does "catch", I feel that it goes further in that otherwise. The fan cord works just fine.

    2. One of the two screws attaching the fan itself to the ceiling is coming down. Can I just glue it back on, or do I have to take the entire ceiling fan down?

Thanks for any advice you can offer...

If the cord switch is a standard switch, you can remove it, and take it to a hardware store and buy a new one like it.

I do not understand about gluing the screw. Normally the fans are screwed to a box in the ceiling. If the screws come loose, just tighten them the same as any other screw.

No don't glue the fan back up their, tighten those screws and if they want to work back out, go down to the hardware or auto store and buy what I like to use red thread locker on them, I had a friend's do that and put some locker on it and no more problems. Squeeze a little on the treads and screw them back in and the shouldn't come back out.
