Where might I buy parts for this 1978 model electric trimmer please?
I need part # 8584-02 Release Button and part # 8582-02 Cover.

I know this isn't what you want to hear but I have never found parts for something nearly 30 years old. A new weedeater or Poulon only costs about $80 and it may be well worth the upgrade. Everything else on your machine is 30 years old too.

I have two of these Weed Eaters. I've worn both of these same part out. They were the best trimmers I every owned. If I could find just these two parts I'd would definitely buy them. I search hi and low with no success. I bought a new wacker today but I'm not ready to part with my old one yet. I'll keep looking just for the heck of it. Can you imagine the thrill of finding these parts and getting them usable again. That for me would be like winning a lottery.
