Can an Ex-wife still collect alimony if she is pregnant from another man?
I live in California and I have been divorced for about a year now and I was wondering if I can still collect alimony if I am pregnant with another man's child?

Were you awarded alimony in the divorce settlement?

Why wouldn't she still be entitled to alimony? She was divorced and alimony was awarded. She subsequently became pregnant. I really doubt that the divorce decree says she only gets alimony if she remains chaste after the divorce.

Normally the alimony will be paid, unless you remarry. ** some may list, living with a domestic partner. Pregnancy into itself, should not stop you from collecting alimony.

The real answer is in the court documents, the payment should be explained in detail

We dont actually know if alimony was awarded or not. Also we dont know how long the duration of the marriage was. If it wasnt awarded then it may be difficult to revisit the matter if she is living with someone else and pregnant. Unless it was a long term marriage (over 10 years) then it is typical for alimony to only be awarded for 1/2 the duration of the marriage.

What am I missing here? OP says she is divorced and asks "... can still collect alimony ... ?". This suggests that she is collecting it now. The alternative, that she thinks she could somehow ask for a modification for alimony if she wasn't pregnant, is unlikely at best.
