Im looking for two books of short stories.
Not much to go on but- One book is science fiction. A man on a spac ship with an old woman who scares him. They travel through transporters and all the excess junk in the bodies is lft bhind and they emerge younger. She stores hot cooked meals in a time cupboard. Not much to go on.
The other is a book of several stories. One is a man I THINK goes back in time to prehistory where people go into a trance and are buried, they eat the dirt and then emerge later. He wonders why till he tries it himself. I think it's a racial memory experience. The only other story from the same book is a man who wears a selkies skin, which breaks his bones and forces his teeth out to make him fit but then he does and explores the ocean.
