    HCG blood test
My period is late for 10 days, unprotected sex was 28 days ago. It took many pregnancy tests, they were negative. My blood hcg today was <0,500. Can it be that I'm pregnant?

You could be. Usually we recommend waiting 2 weeks after your missed period and to use the first urine after you wake up. Is there a possibility that through stress, illness, or medication you could just be late?

After that unprotected sex I took next day pill, after a week I bleeded for 3 days but it wasn't as intensive as usual. Since then I'm taking pills. I feel very stressed as I'm not ready for having a child... I don't feel any pregnancy symptoms, except my breasts are bigger and more sensitive (not nipples), I've lost some weight and my venous became more visible. But can it be because of starting new contraceptions?

If you took the morning after pill than that will screw up your periods for a little bit. That is a huge dose of hormones concocted to prevent pregnancy.

As well the new pills will have side effects similar to symptoms most people associate with pregnancy. If you read through the documentation that came with both the Morning After pill and your new contraceptive pill, you will probably be able to tick off all your symptoms with the pills. Stress as well will have odd effects on your cycle, it could delay your period. Relax. If your period does come in a week or two, try the test again, if it is still negative go to your doctor and have him figure out what's going on.

    Hi amaist,

What were you told when you received the results of your blood test? If the last sex you had was 28 days ago, a blood test would show a pregnancy. Your hcg level does not register a pregnancy.

I haven't seen a doctor then, I just took blood test. And yes, it was negative, <0.500, but I don't have my periods yet, that's why I'm asking is there any possibility.

It would be very unusual for a blood test not to show a pregnancy at this point. Most women would see it on a urine test by this time.

It could simply be due to a change in your hormones this cycle. Some women will have a late period, or less often skip a period, now and then. Are your periods usually very regular or have you had irregular cycles in the past?

Wait and see what happens with your period for May. If it still doesn't show when expected, then it would be time to see your doctor.
