My mom has five children all grown none of them comes around her because she is very controlling. I live in the same building with her she try to control what I wear what I said what I do .I have try my best to tell her in a nice way that I am not going to let her control my life but she is not listening .What can I do to make her hear me . I do everything for her cook clean .she talk bad about me to everyone she talks to.I am miserable help please

YOu can also let her talk... but do what you want anyway... if you are an adult... which I assume you are, you don't need her approval for everything.

She might also be very lonely...

I have someone like that in my life. I call her my mother-in-law. She doesn't talk badly just about me. She throws shade at EVERYONE. She told her eldest son to ride a motorcycle so he'd get run over and die. She has alienated two of her ex-daughter-in-laws. Now that another daughter-in-law has divorced her other son, I'm next on the list. She has ignored my kids eversince they were born.

Anyway, this is her personality and not even dynamite can decimate it. She will not change. She will be negative and turn people off.

Avoid her mainly because you've reached your limit. She may be your mother, but she's also an unpleasant person. Stop doing chores for her. Let her go out and find fellow seniors she can gossip and complain with. Good luck.
