What causes a hot tub to trip the circuit breaker?
I have an older hot tub with 240V power connected up from a GFCI breaker box disconnect near the installation. The water circulation pump runs by itself without tripping or blowing safety devices. But soon after the heater kicks in to warm the water the 50A breaker for the tub trips at my main panel.

I've checked the GFCI, the fuse is good, no wet areas, firm connections, etc. I'm thinking it could mean my heater is bad... any thoughts?

If my heater is bad, is it easily replaced?

    I would agree.

Depends on how difficult it is to get to it.
