The door does not close. At times suddenly the door responds to the remote control, then without warning it does not close

Garage door? Typically dirt or debris across the sensor or miss-aligned sensor give this problem. At our church food pantry, the early rising sun shines directly on one of the sensors and we have to shield the sun. After the sun rises further, the door works fine.
