Cant use an extension lead with an air compressor?
Hello. I just got an air compressor to use with my airbrush and I discovered I can't use an extension lead with it? Its quite a large compressor and my easel is BIIIIIIIIIIG, two and a half meters to take full sheets so I do my thing outside. The question- I rationalize that the wires in the wall are just extension leads of heavy wire, am I right? So can I use a heavy gauge wire for a certain length and expect no damage to the compressor or any ill effects? If so how much is OK?

What is the voltage-"meters" would indicate Canadian of Europe. What is the amperage rating of the compressor? Mine draws 13 Amps and I routinely use a 12/2 AWG 50 ft. extension cord with no issue. Houses are typically wired with 14 or 12/2 AWG wiring.
