    Easter message
This time is important to many of us therefore greetings and messages of goodwill

Someone wanted to suggest to me that the blood moon of earlier in the week, being close to Passover, had significance. I want to say that we should not get into fanciful ideas about the meaning of things we know little about.

We know why the blood moon occurred . There is nothing supernatural in the explanation.
    Quote:

Lunar eclipses occur when Earth's shadow blocks the sun’s light, which otherwise reflects off the moon...The red moon is possible because while the moon is in total shadow, some light from the sun passes through Earth's atmosphere and is bent toward the moon. While other colors in the spectrum are blocked and scattered by Earth’s atmosphere, red light tends to make it through easier.

Then again .......... there is Rev 6:12 :) Happy Easter !

Happy Easter to you to, but if you don't want to get into a discussion about the significance of this, why mention it here? I haven't seen any new posts about this, so it could not have been on our forum.

It is/was a current event, not everything is reported in this or other forums. As I said we should avoid fanciful ideas about this and other occurences. as far as discussion is concerned we can discuss this or not. What are the various causes of a blood red moon?

Color of the moon is normally grey but particles in the earth's atmosphere make it appear red. The particles being various minerals such as magnesium, etc. This has occurred throughout the ages, and will continue to do so.

Oh, yes, I had forgotten about her. The goddess of fertility and spring, new beginnings and to you too, Catsmine. I hope others will notice the similarities in the two names, Easter and Oestre.

Pagan Easters were joyful times, celebrating spring and a new beginning; when the church stepped in it turned into suffering and blood spilling and Jesus on the cross, the lamb of god sacrificed.

Actually, Lent is the suffering and blood-spilling time. Easter is the joyful day.

Did you miss my point ? I think so. During pagan celebrations and what preceeded them, everything was joyful and happy right up until and after her day.

I just wanted to clarify that all is not doom and gloom for the Christians. Easter services are filled with joyful hymns and instrumental music and hope.

It's joy and happy at our house, big long weekend with the family together, no talk of people dying on crosses. Have a happy one as well.

Little Timmy went to Sunday School where they were learning about Easter.

The teacher asked if they knew about the resurrection.

Little Timmy piped right up: "I'm not sure what it is, teacher, but Dad says he has to call the Doctor if it lasts longer than 4 hours."

If that's the case then you really aren't celebrating Easter .... just some secular version of the Holiday.

Your message doesn't apply to everyone on the planet. We enjoy this vacation time every year. You enjoy it your way and we enjoy it our way, no harm, no foul. Cool?

You are correct. The OLDEST message has been lost. Read back a bit and you will see what I mean. # 7 and 8. Catsmine reminded me.
