Guys, I have a light brown reddish round spot that is slightly raised and it hurts when I scratch it. The surface of it is sort of rough.

Please help, I've gone to seen a doctor and he said it was discolouration because of sun exposure, but I've done some research and skin discolouration is not like a round spot.

Oh for heavens sake, listen to your doctor and stop looking on the internet to diagnose yourself. How can we possibly know what it is. Can't see it.

Agreed, you can't diagnose this online.
Doctors can be wrong, patients can be wrong, spend the money on a dermatologist if you are worried. (Speaking as someone with both parents and a sister with skin cancers including melanoma.)

I agree with tickle... if you won't accept the answer your doctor gave... why are you on the internet asking people who can't even see it... most of whom are not even doctors (an none of whom possess ESP) what it is?

Get a second opinion from a doctor in person. It could be exactly what your doctor said it was, it could be skin cancer, it could be ringworm. There is no way we can tell you what it is.
