Hi my implanon expired on the 10th. 2 weeks before it expired I started feeling pregnancy symptoms like throwing up, sense of smell, weight gain (117 now 135). Belly is getting bigger and my breast are hard and very sensitive.

I haven't had my period yet which should have started on the 21 of last month and still haven't started. I took a home test and it came out negative I don't know if I did it right. I took it later in the day and didn't read the directions carefully.

First those aren't pregnancy symptoms... you won't even start to show until the 4th month... at 8 weeks it's the size of a kidney bean... smaller than some chunks of food you swallow... and you don't see those going through your gut.

Also... you need to READ the instructions on those tests... you never take them later in the day... you only take them first thing in the morning... rthe firs ttime you pee that morning... never any later.

Your weight gain is from something else... like eating too much for your physical activity level.

Pregnancy is certainly possible... because no form of birth control is 100% effective... and multiple forms should be used until you are absolutely ready to have a child.

We have several members here who got pregnant despite using 3 forms of birth control correctly. One of them had it happen mor ethan once.

Take another, first morning urine. It is more concentrated and the hormone it looks for will be apparent. You are experience the one true pregnancy symptom: A missed period. The rest of that could just as easily attributed to PMS or your birth control expiring. Your body is probably adapting to not having the birthcontrol hormone in your system.

Since it has expired, have you talked to your doctor about another birthcontrol system? Bought condoms? Are you trying to conceive?
