I am 16 and on birth control, today I was having cramp like pain and an upset stomach along with hot flashes and muscle exhaustion. My period was late last month but isn't supposed to come for a week and a half. I discovered that I was bleeding dark brown blood with some small clots. I have no idea what is going on?

Brown blood indicates old blood, it's your bodies way of cleaning itself out. But it can also indicate other things.
