No... they each are on the hook for their own lawyers, as it should be.

Nobody can say exactly how much it costs because no two divirces are identicale... custody has to be decided... assets divided.. if one of other party puts up a fight... the costs will go up significantly.

I don't know specifically about Illinois, but many states have provision for making one spouse pay the attorney fees of the other, if necessary. Ask the lawyers this too, when you call.
